We are excited to be hosting a special in-person event in London on the 3rd of November! We’ll be joined by animators, riggers, and VFX artists from studios like DNEG and Weta who will be sharing their insights and workflows with Ragdoll. Plus, @marcus will be there to talk about the future of Ragdoll Dynamics and give an exclusive sneak peek at what’s coming next.
Join for some free food and drinks, and great company. We have limited tickets available so make sure to grab yours here: https://RagdollCon2025.eventbrite.com
Hi all, I’ve just sent an email to everyone who’s registered for the event so far, currently 34 attendees + 6 staff as of an hour ago.
We’ll keep it running till go-time, but those registering after the 50th mark will be put on a waitlist (can’t fit more than that). So if anyone knows they cannot attend, let us know as soon as you know.
If you are one of those attending, feel free to say “hi” here to let others know you are coming.
EDIT: Bah, the email is under review by Eventbrite. Should be sent any moment, hopefully.
Thanks for organising this event. I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone.
Just a quick intro for the group, I’m Simon, Anim Supe at Cinesite. We’ve used Ragdoll on a few shows but I know it has so much more to offer than we’ve utilised to date. I’m excited to hear the speaker’s, and everyone else’s experiences and work flows with Ragdoll.
I’m Rob … Software Developer at SideFX. I admit my areas of expertise are more in the Lighting&Rendering arena, but it’s a lot more convenient for me to attend than my coworkers in Toronto. I’ll try not to ask a lot of really ignorant questions
I’m really looking forward to meeting you all in two weeks!
My name’s Robin, and I’m a student at Media University Stuttgart. Since I’m new to this topic, I’m excited to learn more about ragdoll and dive into it together with you!
Hey there,
I’m excited to meet you all in person.
My name is Chiara and, like Robin, I am a student at Media University Stuttgart.
I’m writing my bachelor’s thesis this semester and was looking into ragdoll for that, so I’m very excited to learn more about it.
Hi there,
Thanks for organizing such a lovely event. Will be great to meet everyone in person. And Im Senior Animator and had been using ragdoll from 1.5 years and excited learn more…
I’m Alex Nechifor - animator, illustrator, 3D generalist, working in AR/VR, interactive experiences, games, and branded content (https://nekifo.com). I’m always on the lookout for clever solutions to implement in my workflow and Ragdoll caught my eye early on. I’ve used it on a few projects, but on small things until now compared to what I’ve seen it capable of. Planning to learn it deeper and use it to its full potential in the future.
Excited to participate at this event, looking forward to meeting you there and seeing what’s to come with Ragdoll.
I’m Ben, and I’ve recently joined the Ragdoll team as a Software Engineer.
I’m really excited to be part of such an amazing project — it’s exactly the kind of opportunity I’ve been looking for.
Before this, I worked in the computer animation field, and you can check out some examples of my work and career journey here:
I’m looking forward to meeting and collaborating with all of you!

Presentations finish at 8 pm, but we will be around until closing. To chat over drinks and celebrate Ragdoll’s birthday - there will be cake!
I’m Thomas, a current student at Abertay University, Dundee and I specialize in game animation. I’ve been using Ragdoll for a couple projects now and it has been very exciting seeing the capabilities! Currently applying it to my honours project and it’s been a blast.
I’m looking forward to the event and seeing everyone
Hi everyone!
We’re looking forward to seeing you all this evening!

Hello everyone! We wanted to thank all of you again for coming to the event last week We had a couple of questions in regards to Jason’s live Maya demo showcasing his workflow for animating a boat on the sea!
ti_dsvi on Instagram asked:
“It’s a bit of a thought process, but do u believe the logic behind your boat floating through the waves could be applied to an aircraft situation flying in the middle of a storm. Having perhaps instead of the ragdolls spheres to wobble the plane, the plane body itself to wobble to a wind turbulence effect while holding itself in place with an empty? (or something). Would it be possible?”
Jason: Could work; You can also just use a pin and have the plane be affected by wind. I did a plane post on the forums a while ago, Squadron.
A bit before the event, we got a question about the process of the workflow using Alembic-cached simulated geometry. Marcus shared his perspective on the process - Ragdoll boat moving according to the water simulation.
