Hi,
I’m using Ragdoll in my scene.
The sequence is approximately 1,400 frames long and includes multiple static mesh objects, as well as one skinned mesh.
There are two fields in use: turbulence and uniform.
I tried recording the simulation for one of the objects, but it took a very long time (almost an hour) compared to my other scenes.
Does anyone know what might be causing this issue, and how I can resolve it?
Hey hey, welcome back. Long time.
Hard to say, can we try and break it down?
- In an empty scene with just a cube and a Marker, are you able to record 1,400 frames?
- With turbulence and uniform fields, does it still work?
When you do record your production scene, how far does it go? Recording would always play through your scene twice, once to simulate and a second time to bake keyframes. Does it make it through simulation? How about baking? Does it get stuck at the end? I notice the progress bar says 100%, but it’s not clear when you took the screenshot.
I also notice the lack of a lease, does that appear towards the end or at the start? When you say it takes a long time, what happens to Maya does it freeze? Are you able to hit ESC to cancel?
In a nutshell, need more information.
