Jiggle Control Pins going crazy

Hello!
I’m running into the problem shown in the video, when trying to attach jiggle controls on my rig. Happens with any number of controls selected.

During the viewport playback, all the markers behave fine. Only after caching do they go crazy.

Hi and welcome to the forums @BaconAndBeans!

This looks like an issue with the recording process rather than simulation. Likely to when the assigned control is being constrained and keyframed.

You can test this for yourself by instead of recording calling Ragdoll → Utilities → Extract Simulation

That’ll export the simulation into free joints you can use to try and constrain the misbehaving control yourself. Then there’s an option to constrain the controls you can use to create the same kind of constraint created during the recording process. That should highlight the issue.

Hi!
I tried out your suggestion to parent the control to the created joints, but it still explodes…

The created joints themselves seem to behave fine in the viewport, but the parented control just shoots off into the distance (some 300k units away).

Mm, in that case the issue is between the control and Maya’s Parent Constraint. I expect the control is already driven by something else, such as another constraint or parent group.

Try to constrain the control to anything else, without Ragdoll, and see if the issue persists.

I think youre onto something, the control still blows up, even if constrained withuot ragdoll active
